Birthday Wishes

Cecilia's 11th birthday was a beautiful & bright day.  Cecilia & Grandma preparing for a massage and soak at the Arab bath house.  We lucked out & got to celebrate Grandma's birthday while her and Grandpa were in Spain for a whole month! They left us the day after Cecilia's birthday.  Since the kids had the week off from school I took them to Granada for an overnight trip. Cecilia requested to go for her birthday. The kids and I had a blast touring around one of our favorite Spanish cities.  Dulces de Conventos: Request a pastry, put your money on the turntable, and wait.... Woohoo, they were rewarded! On our way home, we stopped by The Caves of Nerja & Mora Beach.   And, finally relaxing at Maro Beach These kids could skip stones all. night. long.  Happy Birthday Girl! ...

Carnaval

We enjoyed the beautiful chaos of Carnaval in both Tenerife & Malaga.  The energy and commitment of so many individuals was crazy inspiring.  The costumes mesmerizing.  The food overwhelming.  The pure joy of the week was infectious.  Spaniards know how to throw a party, and they show up in full force.  Late night toilet stop.  I have never seen a porta potties of this nature.  It's simple & totally makes sense, yet it always made me giggle.  Back in Malaga @ the petal parade, where people threw thousands of pounds of flower petals & paper confetti. It was a beautiful mess.  Prime grounds for spreading a virus:/
