Tarifa & Cadiz

Where there are strong winds and gorgeous waves, you will find hundreds of windsurfers living out of their vans. You will also likely find a great beach, friendly people, fabulous food & beer.  This sweet little spot sits a couple miles north of Tarifa, the southernmost point in Spain and just 9 miles north of Africa across the Gibralter Strait.  We spent hours at this beach, touring sand dunes.  Cecilia was the only brave enough to slip into the clear blue waters of the Atlantic.  Sunset beach dinners are a common theme for us these days Lunches on the beach are pretty common, too. Grazalema

Grazalema is one of my favorite Spanish pueblos.  The tiny pueblo sits high above a verdant valley with a rocky limestone landscape flanking it's backside. We found the town and it's nearby hiking trails to be muy tranquilo y hermoso, and we were thankful to find hiking trails and a bit of wilderness.  Granada snack on top of the hill.  I am always a little weary when the kids take out the pocket knife on top of a hill, far from civilization or a doctor's office.  Being silly, an important part of this sabbatical.  A long and hot hike made better with daddy's stories and mama's hugs ❤️ Fresh pressed zumo de naranja  Fresh ganadas & focused faces 7am journey to the Panaderia.  The kids love to explore the Panaderia's at all times of the day.  They are always in search of a Napolitana, a small chocolate-filled croissant, but they are satisfied with an...
