Grazalema

Grazalema is one of my favorite Spanish pueblos. 
The tiny pueblo sits high above a verdant valley with a rocky limestone landscape flanking it's backside. We found the town and it's nearby hiking trails to be muy tranquilo y hermoso, and we were thankful to find hiking trails and a bit of wilderness.

I am always a little weary when the kids take out the pocket knife on top of a hill, far from civilization or a doctor's office. 




Being silly, an important part of this sabbatical.

7am journey to the Panaderia. 
The kids love to explore the Panaderia's at all times of the day. 
They are always in search of a Napolitana, a small chocolate-filled croissant, but they are satisfied with any bread product (as is their dad:).

Arco de la Frontera, one of the loveliest pueblos blancos. We stopped by during a fall festival, which wasn't a surprise as the Spaniards always seem to be celebrating something special. This is a lively cultural, and these small villages know how to celebrate.  Spain’s small towns seem to have something special around every corner. Onto Granada: We may have walked on every city street in Granada. It is a dynamic and lovely city - one could wander through the winding streets all day and see new sights at every turn. Malaga- The Place we are Currently Calling Home

A picture tour of the Malaga we know so far: Malaga is Picasso's hometown.  The Picasso museum is small and has a great free audio tour.  Most museums in Spain have informative, enjoyable (and often FREE) audio tours for both adults and kids.  Monk & Rose-Ringed Parakeets grace our skies and palm trees along the beach boardwalk.  I think they are a nice addition to the seagulls & pigeons that squawk overhead.
